A “boomslang”, according to Wikipedia, is “a relatively small, venomous colubrid snake native to sub-Saharan Africa.” It also sounds a lot like the name of a mid-90s European rap “crew”, no? So it’s surprising that a music festival down there in beautiful Lexington, KY, that’s put together a roster of ill experimental rock acts, should name itself such. I mean, I was fully expecting to see Das EFX [wigity-wigity-where are they now?] on the bill, from the sound of things. But anyway, among this cadre of hip-to-a-fault noisemakers [no shots!], they’ve recruited your dude, Lushlife, to drop a solo set. I might need to run some distortion pedals on my backing tracks!
