Jay Dee’s record collection was recently found during one of those storage unit auctions. Weird. They knew it was Dilla’s because, like my own record collection, the crates were littered with bills, set lists, and other personal shit. Some record shop in Detroit was about to sell the lot, but with the Dilla Estate now involved, maybe you’ll see the collection at Experience Music Project instead. Hmm.

The homie, DJ/Rupture has ascended audio plugins into the spiritual realm. The WFMU DJ and Dutty Artz label boss just announced that he’s developed a set of Ableton plugins that were inspired by a recent trip to Morocco. The Sufi Plugins set includes, among other things,  software synths preset to Arabian maqam quarter-tone modality, as well as an Ableton device called Devotion, that automatically lowers system volume to coincide with the five-times-daily call to prayer.
