It took me a while to post this. I’ve been on the road for the better part of this last month. In any case, check out an extra-hype, next-level remix of Hale-Bopp was the Bedouins, courtesy of Shabazz Palaces. The remix features a stirring new verse from the Palaceer, previously known as Ishmael Butler from Digable Planets. So dope.

Jay Dee’s record collection was recently found during one of those storage unit auctions. Weird. They knew it was Dilla’s because, like my own record collection, the crates were littered with bills, set lists, and other personal shit. Some record shop in Detroit was about to sell the lot, but with the Dilla Estate now involved, maybe you’ll see the collection at Experience Music Project instead. Hmm.

Our man, Botany. He lives on a farm with beat machines, growing swiss chard. Read the liner notes to Plateau Vision, and you’ll find that dude had something to do with a large majority of the songs on the LP. He is an unbelievably talented producer. Recognize.

I don’t think this has ever seen the light of day. In 2010, Sincerely Yours asked me to remix My Hopes and Dreams from the debut jj LP, jj n° 2. For one reason or another it wasn’t officially released, but if you dug the ceo remix I dropped late last year, I think you’ll like this too.

The first remix to surface from the Plateau Vision project comes courtesy of beat mystic, Balam Acab. Dude brings his trademark cavernous atmosphere to screwed down vocals from the recently released Lushlife single, ‘Still I Hear the Word Progress’ ft. Styles P. The resulting remix plays beautifully on the unsettling “bad trip” vibes set forth on the album cut.
